Empire
task 2 What is the purpose of your research (secondary) to gather information on what is out there and what you can do differently to make your film magazine standout. This will save you money as your idea wont be the same as all the other magazine such as Empire. Also to create the best way to help people with giving reviews on films that people are willing to watch.

What is the content of the magazine:
Empire is a British film magazine that publishes a new issue every month , although it was originally published by Emap Consumer Media however they were brought by Bauer Media Group in 2008. Empire magazines contain a variety of content from film reviews to countdowns for different topics, such as the top 100 best movies of all time. Most issues of Empire contain a feature known as 'The Empire Masterpiece' which is a two page essay on a film that is randomly selected by Empire.
What does the cover look like? the cover has a man who is dressed up as santa claus in the middle of the picture. the main colour is red as it is a Christmas film. The film is Arthur Christmas and around it is little pop up around the centre picture about different platform of where you can buy other films.
What is featured on the cover page? On the front cover it has a big picture of avatar, around the picture there are pop up ads for . The cover also shows some of the other contents inside the magazine which cover other films. Readers who like multiple of the movies featured or stated on the cover will be more likely to buy the magazine.
Does it have a centre page spread? the magazine has a centre page spread within the magazine.
Does it have interviews? yes it has interviews with people, who have watched the film and giving it a rating for people to see their reviews of the film, which can attract or put off them watching the film.
Contests for readers? people, who want to know more about the film, they are going to potentially watch
Film reviews? arthur christmas is 4/5, avatar was 7/10
